Drawing

D-raw, drawing by artist Marko Gavrilovic

Drawing is essential. Without it, fine art does not exist. It's the basis.

We use drawing for preparation, work in progress, and the finish, of almost every painting. In sculpture, you use a drawing to make initial sketches. Yes, there may be sculptors, who work directly in the material of course, but that doesn't mean they don't know how to draw.
In fact, how many really good sculptors do you know aren't good draftsmen?

"It is only by drawing often, drawing everything, drawing incessantly, that one fine day you discover, to your surprise, that you have rendered something in its true character."

Camille Pissarro

All about perspective

I can not draw every day with the same passion, the same eagerness, and knowledge. To be honest, during the creative process, sometimes I'm doubtful. The experimental nature of my work often puts me in unknown territory.
There is something in the timing, in that particular frame,
where you need to be fast but also to do something interesting, and hopefully unique. It has always been a challenge and still is.
Crazy how it looks but on the other hand, I often think that I could do almost everything.

Light and Line

I used to like the realistic approach but also studied abstract, lines, and geometry. So from this likening, my style started to emerge. In the beginning, it was like night and day, but eventually, I think that I managed to merge all this mixture in one style, so I guess that you can not differentiate from where and how I've started.

Once I called it "The art of exaggeration" or the Art of too much, now I don't see it that way.

One of the major keys of my art is the uncertainty of the outcome. I freed myself a long time ago, to blindly stick to the initial idea. Yes, I'm planning, but in the end, work evolves to a barely recognizable degree. It's strange to say that, for personal art, but this process always surprises me over and over and allows me to make images that I really can't repeat.

It was always between me and ink. Imaginative journey through mysterious past, present time, and future events begin here.
